Recent Etsy Buys

I seem to be loving gingham and green these days. Clockwise from top left: vintage Samsonite train case from Epoca Vintage, iphone cozy (complete with earbud pocket!) from Blythe King, checkbook cover from Tinymeat, and oilcloth lunch bag from Julie Meyer.

And speaking of etsy, we are getting close to our 100th sale! We're still deciding what to do to celebrate, but it's safe to say that buyer number 100 will get a special treat.

Treatzone Goes To Work

My office holiday craft sale was this week, and it just seems a fitting time to say how lucky I feel to work with such talented and supportive people. It was also a neat little anniversary, since last year's sale was the first time we'd sold our treats anywhere. A lot has happened in a year!

Treats above by my coworkers Amy and Elyse (left) and Kristen (right). More here.

101 Reasons

Jan at Poppytalk asked artists, designers, and shop keepers to help compile a list of 101 reasons to buy handmade this holiday season, and had a quite a response! We agree with many of the sentiments on the list—that buying handmade is important because you're supporting individual artists instead of gigantic corporations, the items are generally more eco-friendly, and the gift means more for both the giver and receiver.

Archer Patches

Just a quick post to let folks know that we added some archer patches to our etsy shop. Matthew has been getting so many complements on the one he has on his messenger bag that we decided to share the love. More soon!

New In The Shop

We just added a few button sets to our Etsy shop. They're made from vintage wrapping paper—a favorite material of the moment—as well as vintage sheet music. Each set is unique but there are three basic elements in each: one girl with a parasol, one snippet of music with text, and one yellow rose. We love how the sets end up sweet or sassy, flirty or dramatic, depending on which girl is paired up with which phrase.

Currently in the shop, we've got the sassy brunette with "maybe you", the demure redhead with "so true of you", and and the sweet blond with "moonlight". (And if you'd rather take a chance and have someone make the decision for you, Little Paper Planes has more sets available here.)
