Chris + Annie

We came across kindred spirits Chris and Annie Koelle a while back while participating in a Poppytalk Handmade Market, and have been meaning to do a post on them ever since!

The talented pair met in college as art majors and make all kinds of good stuff together. We love following their work and inspiration on their blog, where we discovered Annie has a philosophy very similar to ours:
I think I have several goals I try to accomplish with each piece of art: to express my personal appreciation for the object shown and to provoke the viewer to appreciation for that object when they come across it again in their own lives. Did I explain that correctly? How about this: be thankful for all the wonderful things you have been given—strawberries, breakfast, cake, birds, lovely brooches, everything.

On Love

Love is finally here! Samantha Hahn asked 24 artists with a distinct style and voice to interpret the theme "love" for a book she curated, and we are so excited to be among the contributors. The 40-page book also includes work by Hannah Stouffer, Lilly Piri, Aaron Hogg, Lisa Butterworth, Dan Funderburgh, Samantha Hahn, Erin Loechner, Jesse Breytenbach, Kate Miss, Jessica Gonacha, Kelly Lynn Jones, Yasmine Surovec, Shira Sela, Maditi, Amy Sahba, Ez Pudewa, Hijiri Shepherd, Marisa Haedike, Lisa Congdon, Holly Becker, Kate Neckel, Katie Sokoler & Kate Bingaman Burt.
