Merry Merry

Wishing you all a belated Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year! Although last year was Dylan's first Christmas, this was the first year he was really able to participate, and we had so much fun seeing the holiday through his eyes. He still doesn't understand Santa or even presents yet, but boy did he have a blast with all his new toys. His grandparents especially made it a really special day for him, even though we weren't all able to be together.

Christmas night we had a relaxed dinner at home with a few friends. Matthew made some amazing beef brisket and I finally checked off one of my to-dos for 2012: I baked my own bread. I used this super-simple recipe and now I'm hooked and want to bake all our bread. (My first whole wheat loaf is in the oven as I type.)

New Year's Eve was decidedly less relaxing, due to a certain toddler fighting bedtime rather than any raging party. But we recovered with a little trip out to Fort Funston on New Year's Day and so far 2013 hasn't been too bad.

Who knows what the rest of the year will bring? Part of me wants to launch a new line of Treatzone goods and part of me just wants to make things for my family. Maybe I'll find a way to do both?
